Heart Yoga: Awaken to the Joy of Life
Heart Yoga is the marriage of the yoga of the illumined body with the mysticism of the awakened sacred heart. This 8-week course on Heart Yoga is offered to directly initiate participants into the full power of this marriage, which mirrors the sacred marriage of transcendence and immanence in the Divine, and makes possible the birth of the embodied divine human.
This course has been specially designed both for persons who have never before practiced yoga as well as for experienced yoga students and teachers. Heart Yoga brings to all who practice it with devotion a renewed vibrancy of being, a deepening sense of inner peace, and the heart energy to act in the world as a channel of love.
In this course you will experience the union of grounded passion and peaceful joy in the core of your body and heart that we all need now in these difficult times in order to keep inspired and be able to respond to our growing crisis from a place of compassionate wisdom.
This course will present simple yoga postures along with simple mystical practices from all the great ancient traditions. You will learn practices that will root your whole being in the calm and luminous energy which is both our source and the fountain of continual renewal flowing into our hearts from the heart of the universe.
Heart Yoga is a way of joyfully offering gratitude, and of honoring and serving the divine presence in all of creation. The wisdom of the creators of yoga is simply and profoundly expressed in a timeless yogic text, The Upanishads:
"From joy all beings have come.
In joy all beings are sustained.
To joy all beings return.
This is the highest teaching
This is the highest teaching."
This 8-week course in Heart Yoga will help you to awaken this joy in your heart, your mind, and in every cell of your body, gradually initiating you into that experience of celebration which mystics describe as the essence of life. It is written in The Upanishads that "The wise see Love flaming in all creation, and their hearts are filled with wonder." Heart Yoga offers to everybody, and to every body, a direct path into this vision of Love flaming in all creation, and into the wonder and radical self-empowerment that flows from it. Heart Yoga is a crucible that can calmly and fully birth this third fire, grounding this fire in the peace, strength, and courage which we all are needing in order to respond to the challenges of these difficult times.
